Booking terms and conditions

1. Scope

These terms and conditions govern bookings for boat trips and private boat hire offered by ISLAND LOCATION (Tropical Vibes Guadeloupe), a French SAS company with share capital of €1,000, departing from Marina de Deshaies, Guadeloupe.

2. Booking and payment

A deposit of 30 % is required to confirm your booking, payable online through Stripe. The balance is due no later than the day of your trip, online or on site using the payment methods accepted by Tropical Vibes.

3. Availability and booking deadline

Online availability takes account of a minimum booking notice of 72 hours before departure. After that deadline, please contact us directly.

4. Fuel

Unless stated otherwise for your chosen option, fuel is not included in the price. The boat is handed over with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank.

5. Skipper and security deposit

These rules apply only to private boat hire. They do not apply to shared boat trips, which always include a skipper and require no security deposit.

• If you hold a boating licence, a skipper is optional. Without a skipper, a security deposit of 3,000 € is required. No security deposit is required if you choose a skipper.
• If you do not hold the required boating licence, a professional skipper is mandatory and added to your booking; no security deposit is required in that case.
• The skipper's price is the professional skipper extra shown on the page for your chosen option; it can be paid online when you book or on site before departure.

6. Cancellation and refunds

• Cancellation 72 hours or more before departure: a full refund.
• Cancellation between 72 and 24 hours before departure: a cancellation fee of 50 % applies and the remaining amount is refunded.
• Cancellation less than 24 hours before departure, or a no-show: no refund.
• If Tropical Vibes cannot operate because of adverse weather, a technical issue or another force majeure event, you may choose to reschedule the trip or receive a full refund.

7. Safety

Customers agree to follow the safety instructions provided by Tropical Vibes or the professional skipper on board, and to wear any compulsory safety equipment. Passenger numbers must not exceed the capacity stated for the booked option.

8. Liability and insurance

For private hire without a skipper, the customer operating the boat is responsible for handling it and complying with the applicable maritime regulations throughout the hire period. When a professional skipper is on board, whether optional or mandatory, the skipper is responsible for operating the boat unless fault or negligence by the customer is established.

9. Governing law and disputes

These terms and conditions are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first; failing that, the competent French courts will have exclusive jurisdiction.

Data provided when booking is processed in accordance with our privacy policy.
