Leeward coast

The leeward coast runs along the west of Basse-Terre, sheltered from the trade winds by the Soufrière volcanic mountain range. It stretches from Deshaies in the north to Basse-Terre in the south, passing through Pointe-Noire, Bouillante and Vieux-Habitants.
